Week 1, June 20-24 3..2..1..Blast Off to Summer
Rocket Propulsion and Space Exploration
Rocket scientists, you are cleared for launch! This week, the next generation of innovators will learn about the wonders of aerospace and the science behind launching rockets, rovers, and satellites. Through a series of hands-on experiences, including the creation of a balloon jet and fizzing tablet rocket, students will learn about jet propulsion. Our field trip to the Discovery Science Center will allow students to step inside a replica of the Jet Propulsion Lab’s control room for the ultimate space mission, where they will feel the heat and experience a rocket launch in the Blast-Off Zone. At the Rocket Fuel Station, students will learn about the chemistry behind different kinds of rocket fuels used by the Jet Propulsion Lab and even launch their own rockets!
