Week 2, June 27-July 1                             Go for the Gold!

The Science of Sports

Join our team in this action-packed week that is sure to be a home run! Dive deep into the science behind your favorite sports and get ready for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Students will learn how the muscular and skeletal systems work together to help athletes move. The cardiovascular and respiratory systems will also be explored, as well as the physics behind some of the most popular Olympic Games. Students will get a hands-on opportunity to learn the basics of a variety of summer Olympic sports, including basketball, gymnastics, soccer, golf, and more. At the end of the week we will even host our own AMA Olympics Games! For our field trip this week, students will head to Angel Stadium for “Camp Halo”, where they will enjoy cheering on the Anaheim Angels at a Major League Baseball game!
